Mr Julian L’Enfant MEd (Plurilingual Ed), Dip RSA

On June 27th 2019 at 10:00 in room 208 CKU Wrocław University of Economics is honored to welcome Mr Julian L’Enfant from the Saint Mary’s
University in Halifax in Canada.
Mr Julian L’Enfant is working as an Academic Service Manager being an expert in Plurilingual Education and CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning). He has led a number of CELTA (Certificate
in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) programs which are approved by Cambridge Assessment English, and is currently working in the Studio for Teaching and Learning as an Educational
Developer at Saint Mary’s University. Mr L’Enfant also provides intercultural training to staff and faculty at Saint Mary’s, so his experience may also be interesting to explore and compare
with our institution’s practice of international/intercultural development.
The lecture will be on developing intercultural communication that is provided for faculty and staff at Saint Mary’s University and exploring how these theories and models can be applicable in
other context, i.e. culture and building intercultural understanding; developing a personal understanding of the complexities of culture tools to facilitate communication across cultures. The
lecture will include also the conversation of English as a medium of instruction with the focus on developing academic literacy and content and language integrated learning as a way of promoting
and developing plurilingual and plurilcultural competence.
